SACRAL PLEXUS: Letting Go & Creating Chi Flow
Second Energy Center: Low Abdomen
Water Element – Etheric Auric Body (Emotional Body)
Moving with grace, water is the element of emotions. Water, which is ruled by the moon, is receptive, emotional and changeable; its natural ability is to flow and follow the path of least resistance while dancing around the container that holds it.
Residing in the lower abdomen (centered between the navel and the genitals) is the sacral chakra, which is often called “the seat of life”. This is home of Svadhistana (in Sanskrit, “sweet” and “blessed” with the sense of taste.”) Svadhistana’s aura is the color orange and the sense is taste.
Through the second energy center, the seat-of-the-soul chakra, we experience freedom – the freedom to become all that we are meant to be. The ancients saw the seat of the soul as a real power point. In the martial arts, it is our point of equilibrium and the central focus of chi, the inner energy essential to the maintenance of life.
Qigong is an ancient Chinese health care system that integrates physical postures, breathing techniques and focused intention.
The word Qigong (Chi Kung) is made up of two Chinese words. Qi is pronounced chee and is usually translated to mean the life force or vital-energy that flows through all things in the universe.
The second word, Gong, pronounced gung, means accomplishment, or shill that is cultivated through steady practice. Together, Qigong (Chi Kung) means cultivating energy, it is a system practiced for health maintenance, healing and increasing vitality.
Jen acknowledges that water is a powerful conductor of energy and you should drink copious amounts to facilitate the flow of healing energy. You can bless the water first to enhance the energy and the water’s ability to hydrate. Water energy represents the emotional body.
Waters natural ability is to flow. It is the element of winter and is accommodating, feminine and adaptable, dancing around the container that holds it.
